Happy Birthday, Dear RETRO!!!

11:11 p.m.: Home now, but Brian is still at Retro finishing buttercreams and cake baking.
I really can't believe this day. I couldn't have asked for a better response. The lobby was BURSTING with people from 2 to 7. I iced cupcakes for 5 hours straight without stopping. It was incredible.
Unfortunately, I did run out of cake at 7 p.m., so I had to stop. But, we did it!!!! We gave out over 1700 cupcakes!!!

I am so unbelievably thankful for EVERYONE who made this day possible. This is truly a team effort.

Ironically, our last cupcake given out was Cinnamon Toast which was ALSO the last cupcake on Opening Day one year ago....WEIRD.
I'm cleaning now.........

1:16 p.m. Channel 8 EYEWITNESS news is going LIVE at Retro at 4 and 5 p.m. AND eating their first Retro cupcakes while they wait to go on! I think they like 'em.

Channel 8 just left...they're coming back for LIVE shots at 4 and 5!!!! But, get this. They didn't know it was FREE CUPCAKE DAY! They interviewed me for a women in business segment!!! WHOOPPEE!!!!!

Retro's Birthday is here!! We're ONE!!!!!
I'm going to do a LIVE blog all day to celebrate FREE CUPCAKE DAY (when I can sneak in some computer time in between throwing cupcakes at people) as my gift to all the BAYKAHS and Bakery WANNABES out in webland who can't get to Retro today.

Here's my first picture of the cute banner I got at Target...so RETRO, dontcha think?
I haven't had a chance to get balloons yet, and OF COURSE it's one of the breeziest days we've had in a while...so, I'm not THAT anxious to get them. I can already hear them POPPING as I drag them into my car...so, we can wait on that.

What HAS happened so far? We've been on Action 13 News on taped segments about our birthday. They should be running all day during the news casts since our event is from 8 - 8 today.

THEN, Brian tells me that Channel 8 News is coming in ONE hour to interview me about a segment on women in business...GRRRRREAT. I love tv, but being on it makes me want to do jumping jacks, if ya know what I mean.
